RAGE
Just finished watching a film I rented by Sally Potter, ' RAGE' which is a series of interviews surrounding a death of a model during a fashion show, the first of three, all during the same repeated show, by gunshot, we just hear the screams. it is all shot against a coloured backdrop with various people in the fashion circle, all we see are the charachters alone, never interacting with anyone only the camera man, a student filming on his mobile phone.
It stars Eddie Izzard, Dame Judi Dench, Jude Law most interestingly as a cross dressing drag lady, & Lily cole as the model. I think it was her. I'm very open to film, and all about interesting visuals, things you have to think about, things that don't have such a meaning, they just are, but this was just not enjoyable.
At the end you see lettuce-leaf (lily cole) lying down on a carpet trying to get the camera off the boy, she was scared by the murders & so went to stay with him, then you see a shot of legs running away in black & white, bazaar, someone have an explanation...?

kinda miss their distructive romance
Or at least their outfits & the way they looked together walking doqn the street, that's what I mean. I know they were bad for eachother, real bad, & I love jamie Hince, and think she should settle down with him, they also look good together, but this was rock 'n' roll style at it's best, grubby glamour... do you not miss the mayhem? Ripped tees, skinny jeans, waistcoats, rosary beads, trilbys, scarves, pointy shoes.
ebay purchase consideration
Pondering the most awful things on ebay... trying to control myself, have such a collection of animal print garments now.
I blame you Kane!
Bought this tiger tee from London, last time I went, from Primark, like £4
Just about to place my order for this beaut, from the site ''Your Eyes Lie'' saw it mentioned on style bubble, & ended up getting a cool lung

World Skills UK
Some photo's from last years World Skills Uk competition.
The brief was: 'Truly British, Re-thought classics with an ironic twist''
The task was to design a white shirt, from white cotton, & tartan, which had to have a dramatic collar & cuffs, I had to include pin-tucks, a ruffle & buttons on there somewhere, and seams had to be french seams.
I had to first produce a sketchbook of research & design work, taking inspiration fromVivienne Westwood & her punk days, the Viktor & Rolf A/W-04 collection especially for its oversized cuffs & collars, & Madeleine vionnet, who was famous for cutting on the bias, which I did with the collar etc to get a better shape. The muse was Tilda Swinton, considered graceful, a heroine, eccentric & quintessentially English they said.
My sketchbook was then submitted, & I got through to the final 20, who got to go down to newcastle University to compete in cutting the pattern & producing the toile of our chosen shirt design, in 2 days, stressful I'm telling you, but one of the best experiences of my life, meeting new people with similar interests, free pizza & a pudding every night, and snacks throughout. We got to stay in a grand Marriot hotel too, butlers opening doors for you, we lived the life of luxury, eating fancy croissants for breakfast.
the judges were.............................
then to my disbelief i got through to the final 10 who got to go back to make up the final garment, they were later shown at Graduate fashion week, went down with two college friends, it was such an ace day, saw Susie bubble, but couldnt' speak to her! I remember she was wearing white platform shoes & a wide brimmed hat, I was actually starstruck! Plus got to see some incredible work from Uni graduates, so impressive, loved it.
Rosie Huntington Whiteley & Pixie Geldof were there appaz, my dad came down on his motorbike & saw someone followed by photographers walking in, but of course he didn't have a clue who it was...
