Elliot Frieze

A friend from college who I went down to Cardiff to see, she's studying her BA hons fashion there, she recently did some work experience for a new welsh designer; Elliot frieze, pattern cutting & toiling for him. Just checked out what he debuted at fashion week, just awesome to think she's cut parts of the patterns for those garments.

The collection was pretty classic, strong timeless tailoring really, with the curvy body in mind, not groundbreaking I know. Garments were cut in mostly black and grey with bits of tan leather, almost orange. Probably inspired by his life in the welsh countryside, farmers, horse riding, it looks a bit wartime to me, evacuee all grown up, love the helmets! he somehow got 90's model Jacquetta Wheeler to model his finale gown.

Frieze used to be part of the design duo 'Qasimi' two years ago when it launched, with former college friend 'Khalid AlQasimi' the brand name made of his surname, so I guess Frieze was not so influential to the collections, and wasn't part of the latest Qasimi collection, pictured last, the best, but ripping off Ricardo Tisci's Givenchy terribly, you see it?

Qasimi menswear ss-10 - real good, love the skeleton cut out shirt, gold trousers, & the whole low low vest look with crystals on the chest, it's gonna catch on!
